v0.1.2 alpha
September 17, 2026
added
- homepage redesign: curated editorial rows (recently added, new releases, editor's picks, highest rated, browse by genre/city/decade) replace the old search-first grid; the full filterable catalogue moves to its own browse page, with a universal search box in the site nav.
- genre browsing rework: an explore genres landing page, breadcrumbs and full subgenre listings on each genre page, and manually curated essential albums per genre — not computed from ratings, since coverage is still too thin for that to mean much.
- city pages: a cities index mirroring explore genres, with individual city pages that now have the same sort, filter and genre-filter controls as genre pages.
- decade pages: browsable decades with an index, individual pages, a homepage row and a nav link, wired the same way as genres and cities, including essential-albums curation.
- profile rework: a rating-distribution histogram you can click to filter by score, ratings and reviews split into separate tabs, a restyled activity feed and review cards, and sortable backlog/ collection tabs (recently added, title a-z, release date, personal rating).
- group members and their own artist pages now link both ways, and a release credited to a group also shows up on each member's own page. artist aliases are searchable too.
- a persistent random-album shuffle in the site header, available from every page instead of just the homepage.
- the essential-albums picker in the admin genre/city manager now scopes its dropdown to the current genre or city, with a search box and a "show all albums" fallback.
- the admin users page now tracks last-seen separately from last-login, for a truer read on who's actually using the site.
changed
- site nav relabeled to a flat "albums / genres / cities / decades".
- the admin release panel disables save/cancel and shows a saving indicator while a release (and any pending cover upload) is actually saving, instead of looking frozen.
- grid cards cap genre tags at 2 with a "+N more" pill, so cards with lots of tags no longer grow taller than their neighbours.
removed
- dedicated era pages and the homepage era row — only two era values existed, which didn't justify their own browsable pages. era stays filterable from the browse page.
fixed
- a data bug that had split Ekatarina Velika and Katarina II into two artist records aliasing each other, instead of one record with the other as an alias.
- a build-breaking release data shape that crashed the build after the artist-aliases/groups migration.
v0.1.1 alpha
September 1, 2026
added
- recent activity: profiles now show a running feed of what you've added, rated and reviewed, replacing the old "coming soon" placeholder.
changed
- cover art now lives in durable cloud storage instead of on the build machine, so it can't quietly go missing on a rebuild or redeploy.
fixed
- the cover source attestation checkbox on the submit form wasn't actually being enforced — it's now required before a submitted image gets attached to a release.
- artist pages created from a community submission were sometimes missing their location (city/country) until someone fixed it by hand.
- last login on a profile could look stale for people who were actively using the site.
v0.1.0 alpha
August 6, 2026
first public alpha release.
added
- archive browsing: browse albums, artists and genres, each with their own page. genres and artist credits link through to dedicated pages, so the metadata itself is the navigation.
- search: find albums and artists from anywhere on the site.
- release pages: full album details including format, label, release date and credited artists.
- ratings & reviews: rate albums, write reviews, and see a community-weighted average rating per release.
- user profiles: public profiles showing favourites, ratings, reviews, collection and backlog.
- collection & backlog: keep track of releases you own or want to explore.
- community submissions: logged-in users can submit new releases and corrections, which are reviewed before they're published.
- guide: a how-it-works page explaining what the archive is and how to contribute.
- feedback & reporting: report a bug, request a feature, or flag incorrect metadata directly from the site.
known limitations
- the catalogue is still growing.
- more ratings and reviews will be added over time.
- additional community features are planned.
